One of the easiest ways to dress up a home is to hang some draperies. Adding draperies or curtain your home will dramatically change its ambiance.
At home, I prefer using draperies over our venetian blinds. Yes, we have blinds installed at our windows but we still use curtains over the blinds to add homey feel. The beauty of using draperies is that you can mix and match it with other upholsteries inside your home from throw pillows to your sofas.
I usually top our curtains with petite, decorative over-draperies such as swags and jabots and a lot of our guests give us compliments because of that. Dressing up your home with draperies and curtains are really exciting because the variations and designs that you can do are limitless.
Experimenting with draperies is such a wonderful way to beautify your home even in ordinary days. And if you can sew your own curtains, that is even more fantastic!
Do you have a cluttered home? Well, I used to have one years ago where you can see small appliance, paper, ceramics, souvenirs and many others scattered at my place from bedroom to terrace. Until I saw our family photo with unsightly background because of so many scattered things behind us when we took that picture.
I then realized that I need to clean up and re-organize our home but my problem during that time is that, me and my family are not ready to put away any of our things. Suddenly, I asked my brother if he can do some carpentry work and luckily, he answered yes.
So one long weekend, we created shelves that are attached to the walls. We managed to create several sizes and put a simple sliding wooden door. Then we painted them with similar color to that of our walls and added small designs at the sides so that they will look good together.
We then put inside all the stuffs that cause our home to look cluttered and we are glad because we just made our home clutter-free without hiring any professional. So try to assemble a built-in shelves or built-in slim cabinets in your home to remove all those stuffs that make your home look like a mess.
